Tailor-made products

We have more than 18 years experience tailoring our products to the needs of our customers. From design tweaks and logo additions, to the ground-up construction of a new product to meet a niche need, we can provide gear that suits your requirements perfectly.

If you have a program that requires a unique solution, talk to us. We can modify our extensive range of existing products to better suit your needs, or (for larger programs) work with you to custom-make gear to meet your requirements. We’ve made mini rucksacks with hip-loading capabilities, packs with extra-small harness combinations, additional attachment points and colour coding… just two examples of the special requirements we’ve met for rucksacks. Then there’s the Antarctic gear, the medical and rescue products, the diverse tent types: the list goes on…

Contact One Planet Industrial and see how we can meet your needs, perfectly.

The One Planet service

We build our products to last, and get satisfaction out of seeing our gear still in use after years of hard treatment. The One Planet service doesn’t stop when you buy from us – we’re based right here in Melbourne, so repairs, service and spares can be provided quickly, easily and efficiently. Many of our products have fixed basic designs and specifications, allowing interchangeable parts between new and old models. This reduces the gear pool and means that you won’t end up having to throw out a serviceable product because of one broken part.

Extensive, diverse experience

One Planet has worked on a huge range of gear, from tents for the harshest conditions imaginable to harnesses for weed sprayers. From clothing to sleeping bags, hipbelts to protective bags, if you need it, we can do it, and do it well. Our products are built for durability, comfort and performance, and we’re passionate about getting it right.

When the Australian Antarctic Division needed tents, they came to One Planet. The tents needed to be as tough as Mawson, as long-lasting as a polar winter and as practical as base full of scientists. So the One Planet Polar Pyramids were born, and have been adopted by the Antarctic Divisions from half a dozen countries since.

The HR Packs and some of our Industrial tents were originally designed for Holiak Hire, Australia’s largest hirer of bushwalking equipment, back in the 1990s. They wanted simple, easily maintained gear made from tough, durable materials, with minimal features and compatible parts for easy maintenance. These products have been tweaked since, becoming even better, and are now used by hundreds of schools and hire companies throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The brief for the Ridgeback 1 was tough: it had to be light, easy to use, quick to put up, sturdy enough to cope with almost any weather, and able to endure a year of mistreatment at the hands of 14 year olds! Originally developed for Geelong Grammar School’s year-long Timbertop program in the 1990s, the tent was such a success that, with a bit of refinement and toughening to become the Ridgeback 2, it is now the tent of choice for many of Australia’s largest outdoor education providers.
